Flash Glucose Meters - Crawley CCG and Horsham and Mid-Sussex CCGs (CHMS CCGs) Local decision: Interim Guidance- At present FreeStyle Libre® sensors are not available to prescribe by GPs on FP10. There is currently an application in progress to have these added to the Drug Tariff. The CHMS CCGs clinical leads and the Head of Medicines Management have agreed that until the Prescribing Clinical Network (PCN)/Brighton APC have evaluated this product it would be considered locally as BLACK on the traffic light system and should not be prescribed in primary care (should it become available on FP 10) or secondary care”

A formulary for use in primary and community care has been ratified for use in Crawley, Horsham and Mid Sussex. The formulary includes the traffic light classifications under which prescribing responsibility is defined.
The formulary has been developed with reference to NICE guidelines, local clinical pathways, formularies in neighbouring CCG areas and the formularies of local trusts.
